• Abscess

An abscess is an enclosed collection of liquefied tissue, known as pus, somewhere in the body. It is the result of the body's defensive reaction to foreign material.

An extremely rare, generally indolent malignant epithelial tumour, which arises almost exclusively in the tibia or fibula in the second to fifth decade in life.
Swelling, pain, developing over months to years.

• Adaptation

The constellation of processes by which an organism adjusts to a new or altered environment in response to stress and increased physiologic demands.
